Management Solutions International (MSI) provides specialist recruitment of highly skilled personnel for a range of professional clients in the medical, IT, telecoms and banking sectors.

The team of dedicated consultants supply clients ranging from clinical directors, both in the NHS and the private sector, to local SMEs and blue chip companies needing specialist IT, commodity trading, and banking personnel.

Having been in business for 5 years, and with more than 25 years' experience in the recruitment sector, Directors James Parker and Nicky Simpson knew the value of rigorous procedures. They also recognised the need to demonstrate to clients that the business is well structured, and looks after its staff in a healthy working environment. They chose IMSM to help them achieve International Standard ISO9001, which shows that a business has a logical and documented set of procedures in place. "We chose IMSM because they were competitive, and could provide the service as a complete, no-fuss package", said Nicky Simpson.

"After a year, the benefits are still clear to see. We can manage and develop the processes better, as we are building on a solid foundation. We have a good internal audit team, which also helps. And the clients like it too, whether we are tendering, meeting Requests for Information, or applying to get on Preferred Supplier Lists, as we did with Ericsson".

James Parker takes up the story, "Technology is a key factor in our business, helping us achieve Key Performance Indicators. We deal with very personal information including CVs and bank details. As we are continuing to invest and improve the technology, we decided it was important to match this with procedures to protect the security of all that information, so turned to IMSM again for help in achieving ISO27001, the Information Technology standard. Having gone through the process for ISO9001, and with other data protection measures, we were pleased to find we were already 60% there."

"Our staff responded well, and the process is giving them, as well as their clients, an increased feeling of confidence and security. We have introduced measures including storing data securely off site, swipe cards for secure access, a clear desk policy, and some sophisticated password management systems. All visitors are recorded and logged in and out, which gives us even better control."

Both agreed, "This was a step into the unknown, made a lot easier because we had ISO9001 already. We are very pleased we have achieved both standards, and it has been a pleasure working with IMSM- we would recommend them 100%"
