Adhering to the Standard
Established in 1986, Cirencester-based Promatech
Ltd supplies and distributes technically advanced and high performance
adhesives to the medical, optical, electronic and aerospace industries.
Achieving ISO certification was a customer requirement.
Even in larger, well-established organisations with a solid reputation,
having an internationally recognised quality standard has become
a pre-requisite for conducting business and is an essential requirement
for achieving customer satisfaction.
 Having
both ISO 9001:2000 and OHSAS18001 certification also means that
the staff at Promatech no longer need to complete lengthy customer
questionnaires, to be selected for preferred supplier lists. Simply
informing the customer that the company is ISO certified automatically
answers many of those questions and indicates that the company is
committed to excellent customer relations. It also increases the
likelihood of attracting new business and enables the company to
enter global markets where internationally recognised standards
are required.
The company further decided to demonstrate their
commitment to Health and Safety, by bringing their systems in line
with OHSAS 18001. "With customers like ours, we need to show
that we take health and safety seriously, and this was the best
way to prove it. We were already doing more than half of the procedures,
it was just a case of getting them in line, and fully documented.
We now review this on a regular basis"
