The company decided to attain ISO 9001 certification through IMSM to improve the quality of products and services provided to its customers by organizing and standardizing processes and training.

The company’s quality system is designed to prevent defects in the manufacturing process before they happen. The use of X-bar and R charts and SPC ensures that each part produced is within strict tolerances.
Dale continued, “The overall improvements we anticipate as a result of implementing ISO 9001 include a reduction in errors, improved productivity, stress reduction, business and product line expansion and a reduction in the amount of time spent on such matters. It will also improve both customer and employee perception. Most major corporations will not deal with a company without a strong and thorough process for assuring quality in their quality manual.”
In expressing his prior concerns about pursuing ISO 9001 and how IMSM overcame these, Dale said, “We originally believed that the standard would be difficult to implement and that we would be required to change some of the effective processes already in place. However, IMSM patiently and thoroughly explained that since we had good processes in place, we only needed to make minimal changes and increase our documentation efforts.”
Since becoming ISO certified, Pressure Connections Corp. has seen an increase in profits from better quality and a reduction in errors. More effective training processes also create less stressful work days.
